Notes: Paid. Modbury priory was a cell of the abbey of St Pierre-sur-Dives in France. It was not dissolved until the death of William Beuselyn, who was the last prior. Evidence shows he leased the priory's estates from the king and then from Eton College. The mother-house sent a monk to live with the prior as late as 1470. See English Monastic Archives database.
